Technical Adviser
Our client is a leading not-for-profit organisation that provides technical advise on accidental oil spills and chemicals worldwide. The technical advisor will be readily available 24/7 in order to respond to such incidents and provide technical knowledge to damage assessment, claims analysis, response strategies and methods to mitigate damage to those in authority. The work is varied and challenging. It involves physically demanding conditions and engaging with senior personnel within government and other parties to deliver advice and recommendations. Candidates should possess, as a minimum, a higher degree in a scientific, engineering or related discipline and have relevant practical experience in pollution control, and/or the effects of pollution on marine resources. Fluency in another language in addition to perfect spoken and written English. The successful candidate must be willing to travel extensively, often at short notice, be well very organised and be able to work under pressure. Good physical fitness, particularly in swimming, strong interpersonal skills, full UK/European driving license, and computer literacy are all vital.
