Merchandising Co-ordinator (Buyer)
An award winning interior design studio whose work encompasses luxury based projects from yachts, aviation and architecture in the UK and internationally, and they are now recruiting for an experienced Merchandising Co-ordinator to join their team.
This role requires the highest of expertise, and the greatest of understanding and knowledge for the interior, architecture and design world. You will be required to set up, maintain and issue full specifications for projects. You will liaise with Project Managers and Interior Designers on all projects. With this you will need to prepare and issue purchase orders, check and sign off invoices and track account balances for multiple projects, so you will also be working with the Accounts Department to ensure that they are updated at all times with project costs, changes in quotes and budgets etc. With your years of experience you will have the knowledge and the ability to track any piece of mechanising from supplier to Client, and provide schedules and progress reports to all relevant parties throughout the projects. You will also be required to select and liaise with suppliers, negotiate pricing, follow up purchase orders and organise deliveries. When working on projects you will need to assist with onsite project installations which include lifting, carrying and packaging of items/products. With regards to decorative direction and implementation you will work with the Interiors team and assist with any Client presentation preparation, such as samples, images, custom items etc. In addition to this, there may be trade shows to attend as well as travel when required.
This role requires a minimum 5 years purchasing experience in high-end luxury residential, yacht and aircraft design projects, together with 5 years experience in coordinating international deliveries and shipping of goods. For this role you will have Microsoft Office Suite, Filemaker Pro, InDesign and Photoshop. As an experienced Merchandiser you will have strong design awareness and an interest in all aspect of design. You will be highly motivated with exceptional communication skills and have the experience of working in a creative and busy environment. Within this role you will need to be able to work as part of the project team but also be able to work independently.
